Well, the conference in Bowling Green went well, although I left early (there was a reading and open mic after the small sessions that I didn’t go to) because I thought I’d have plans elsewhere tonight, but then that didn’t pan out. I did, however, stop and get Afterglow on the way home, although even though I’ve been back home for several hours, I’ve still yet to play the CD. And given that I woke up at 0600 this morning, I think I’d better get some sleep here before I listen to it.

I was surprised that I was able to get to BGSU and find the conference on my own; I’d been down to BGSU a couple of times in the past, but I’ve never driven there by myself. One thing I noticed, though, is that if I do decide to go to BGSU for my MFA, I’d better get an apartment closer to campus. It’s about a half-hour drive from my house to there — without rain or snow to deal with, mind you — about 98% of which is highway driving. My car is close to twenty years old, and while it still runs well, there is just no way it could possibly stand up to doing that trip ten times a week. Mind you, I’ve kind of been given a very compelling reason to stay at home after UT in recent months, but I’ve got to save the specifics on that until later. You’ll find out soon enough, though.
