The Prostitutes of Lake Wiishkoban
My novel about a woman’s coming-of-age in small-town Minnesota, where she goes to work at a library that doubles as a clandestine brothel. Shortlisted for the 2012 Dundee International Book Prize and a quarterfinalist for the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.

I also won the 2003 University of Toledo Dean’s Essay Prize in Creative Writing for my short story/novella “Something Better.” I am currently revising that story for future publication.
