Yahoo! News – Bush Blasts ‘Revisionist Historians’ on Iraq — Let me just quote the relevant bit here:

Bush said, “This is for certain, Saddam Hussein is no longer a threat to the United States and our friends and allies.”

Bullshit, Dubya. Now, I’ve admitted that I thought Saddam had WMDs before the incursion, although it’s nice to see all of that “ready to strike and kill us all at any moment” hyperbole is being slowly but surely deflated. The thing is, Saddam’s still out there. (And how long do you think it’s going to take troops to find him, given that Osama bin Laden is still on the loose a year and a half after we went over there, in spite of his need for dialysis every few days?) And given the huge lead-up to the incursion, he probably had plenty of time to get his weapons mobile. We still have plenty to worry about with Saddam, but now he’s more mobile, and more capable of surprise tactics. He may not strike the US, but he will strike some country eventually. Might be a good idea to save that little quote from Dubya above, because I have a feeling it’s going to come back to bite him in the ass sooner rather than later.
