I do so hate it when the weather gets in the way of my DDR plans for the evening ... sigh.
Ever since I had to shut down the .forum after it got hacked, I've been thinking about what to create as a substitute. The whole point with me starting the .forum wasn't just so people could interact with me; I also wanted to create a nexus where everyone who has come to know me through my Internet endeavours and real life could come together and get to know each other. That was the idea, but about a couple of months later the .forum really just became a glorified way to message me.
I would like to create a community like that again, but things have changed a lot since I started the .forum, and now the Web is a lot more fractured than it used to be, with everyone having their own MySpace and all of that. This is why I'm leaning towards just turning on Blogger's comment feature for responses on the .org (people on the LJ feed can already comment through LJ's comment system), and seeing what comes of that. If anyone has any better ideas, though, I'd like to hear them. Just keep in mind that I really don't want to host any bulletin board software on my own server after the hack and the fear that came with it.
